Campaign on The Right to Conscientious Objection in Turkey

Conscientious Objection Watch’s mission is to achieve legal recognition for conscientious objection to military service (CO) in Turkey. We make visible the violations of rights experienced by conscientious objectors (COs) due to the lack of regulations on conscientious objection. With this aim, we organize CO’s, socializing the conscientious objection in society, carry out documentation, monitoring, reporting at the national and international level, as well as providing legal support to COs. To fulfill our mission, we work to raise public awareness to the right to conscientious objection as well as lobbying at the level of regional and international human right bodies about the situation of conscientious objectors in Turkey.
